Creative Team Events & Tufting Workshops in Berlin
Looking for a creative team event in Berlin? Join us for a private tufting workshop at our artist-run studio in Prenzlauer Berg or invite us to your office or event venue for an on-site workshop.
Everyone creates their own tufted piece while sharing the experience as a group. No previous tufting experience is required.

At our studio
Our artist-run tufting studio is located near Senefelderplatz in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. Private groups can spend the workshop together in a working studio surrounded by textile pieces, materials, art and works in progress.
The studio format works particularly well for team events, company groups, birthdays, private celebrations and creative offsites with up to 13 participants.
On-site tufting workshops
For larger groups and company events, we can also bring the workshop to your office, event venue or another location in Berlin and the surrounding area.
The exact format is adapted to the number of participants, available space, timing and type of event. On-site workshops can work particularly well for company celebrations, Christmas parties, conferences, festivals and larger team events.

Choose your format.
Choose a compact creative session or spend three hours developing a larger individual piece. Both formats are guided by us throughout the workshop.

- Create a small tufted piece with a simple design.
- Design templates can be provided upon request.
- You draw your design on the day of the workshop.
- All materials, backing and finishing are included.
- Your piece is usually ready in approximately 2 weeks.

This option is available for groups of 6 or more participants. On weekends, it is only available from 4:00 PM onwards.

- Create your own individual rug or textile artwork.
- Send us your design before the workshop.
- We prepare the drawing on the fabric in advance.
- All materials, backing and finishing are included.
- Your rug is usually ready in approximately 2–3 weeks.

Make something together, while making something of your own.
Everyone works on an individual piece, but the experience is shared. We introduce the tools and basic tufting technique before each participant begins working at their own frame.
This creates a group experience without asking everyone to make the same object. Participants can choose their own motifs and colours and work at their own pace, with individual guidance throughout the session.
04 · Our studio
The room is part of the experience.
Tufting Berlin / CL Studio is an independent artist-run working studio in Prenzlauer Berg, led by Sungeun Claire Choi and Wonek Lee.
With backgrounds in photography and media installation, we approach tufting as a medium rather than simply a craft. Art, textile works, design, music, materials and works in progress are part of the space in which the workshops take place.
For us, the surroundings are not decoration around the workshop. They are part of the experience of spending a few hours making something with attention and material.

A few hours away from the usual routine.
No previous experience is required. At the beginning of the workshop, we introduce the tufting machines, materials and basic technique. Everyone has time to practise before starting their own piece.
Afterwards, each participant works at their own pace. The process is hands-on and focused: choosing colours, following the design and gradually seeing a textile surface develop on the other side of the frame.

Planning a larger company event or looking for a creative activity at your own venue? We offer customized on-site tufting workshops in Berlin and surrounding areas.
On-site workshops can be adapted for:

Good to know.
Booking
Full payment is required in advance to confirm private studio sessions and team events.
Timing
Private sessions are available on weekdays with flexible starting times. There is no additional charge for a weekday private booking.
Finishing
We complete the backing and finishing after the workshop so that every piece is properly finished.
Languages
Workshops can be held in German or English.
Safety
As we work with electric tufting machines, alcohol is not permitted during the session.

Adapted formats are available for schools, universities, kindergartens, teaching teams and other educational groups. Please contact us for details.
